I love all aspects of photography honestly. I love doing portraits, weddings, surfing, landscapes & empty wave photos. I feel like doing all of these helps me in each category. My passion though is shooting waves. It’s crazy how each wave is different. For example, this wave photographed here on this particular morning looks nothing like all the others I took the same morning. From the colors to the shape they’re all different. That’s why I love them so much. It never gets boring no matter how many waves you shoot. One thing people don’t realize is I’m taking these photos early morning before the sun comes up and at later in the evening when it goes down. There’s always the potential of running into a shark. It’s just part of the territory. Some mornings when I’m super sketched out I have to talk myself through it. You woke up to get the shot now go get it! That’s what I have to remind myself. But I wouldn’t change it for the world because passion overcomes fear any day.
Here is a photo I grabbed yesterday at the Bogue Inlet Pier here in Emerald Isle, NC. I had a super cold session swimming around. The air was pretty warm but the water is still freezing. I love how you have the pier framed by the wave. Click here to preview more of my work http://www.grahamhuntphotography.com
I went for my first swim back about two evenings ago. It was very cold & windy but we had some nice shore break coming through. I figured I would give it a go. I ended up getting about 5 good photos. This was taken about 10 minutes after the sun had gone down. If you’re interested in purchasing this print or ones similar please visit my website: http://www.grahamhuntphotography.com
This year I decided to create a calendar with some of my favorite photographs. It includes the Shackleford Ponies, Bogue Inlet Pier, baby seat turtles & wave art. It really is one of my favorite projects so far. It also includes photos that I haven’t printed yet. The calendars are only $20 and for each calendar I sell, I’m going to donate $1 to The American Cancer society in honor of my Aunt Susan Hunt Bailey. You can purchase the calendars by clicking on the link below. Thanks for your support!
I’m so blessed to have the opportunity to get creative in my backyard. There’s nothing like swimming in the ocean with your camera & trying to line the waves up with the sunset. The really cool part is getting home & taking your camera out of the housing & previewing your images. It’s like Christams morning all over again. Here is a photo I got yesterday evening. Yesterday was the perfect day to get married at the beach in Emerald Isle, NC. It was one of those perfect days where everything comes together. They rented a very nice cottage right on the ocean & did the ceremony & reception at the house. I love these intimate small weddings at the beach. The sunrise yesterday was perfect! I can’t wait to share more of these photos. To preview more of my work visit http://www.grahamhuntphotography.com.
